FAQ

1. Do you handle planning applications if we’re looking to extend?

Yes, through our sister company LIVINGSTONE Architects we offer production and submission of planning applications. Livingstone Interiors work closely with the architectural team to create a cohesive design that flows between architecture and interiors.

2. How do I get a quote?

Please get in contact to discuss your requirements. You will receive a Design Fee Proposal following your initial design consultation.

3. How much will my job cost?

The job is down to your overall budget. The design fee depends on project size, location and level of detail required.

4. Why should I hire you?

While it may seem counterintuitive, hiring a designer can actually save you money in the long run. I can help you avoid costly mistakes, plan a realistic budget, and maximize the value of your investment by ensuring that you make smart choices. Not only that but I understand how to balance aesthetics with practical considerations, making sure that your space looks good and works well for your daily needs.

5. At what stage should I get you involved?

I am happy to come onboard at any stage of your project, but ideally, the earlier the better. For new builds, pre-planning permission is often a good idea, I work with your Architect's initial plans, focusing on the parameter and external walls, delving into the details of your internal space, to make sure your wishlist works alongside the dream home you are building. Once planning permission has been granted, external elements can not be changed. Each project is unique, so please reach out to discuss.

6. How long does it take to receive my Design Boards?

Depending on the scope of works and service selected, it could be anywhere between 6-8 weeks. I will discuss deliverable timelines with you.

7. Can I use my own contractors and/or tradespeople?

Of course! I am happy to work with your preferred team.

8. Will I have to move out of my house during renovation?

This is entirely up to you and whether it makes sense for you / your family. If you are considering getting away for a bit, I recommend doing this during "Phase 4" of the process. Timeline will be discussed ahead of the project commencing.
